About CCAP
“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.“
- Henry David Thoreau
“A good plan implemented today is far better than a perfect one implemented tomorrow”, said George Patton the U.S. Army General in World War II and CRISIL Certified Analyst Program is truly the prototype which symbolizes his statement. CCAP is one of the major initiatives in the history of Indian Education System. It is a pioneering effort in the direction of building leaders of tomorrow. CCAP is a unique study cum internship program, started by CRISIL, an organization which has been a major contributor to the growth of the Indian economic system.
A strong financial system is the backbone of any economy and a strong financial system is formed only when the working professionals are well aware of the finer nuances of the economic and financial system. They must be well versed with the different kind of ethics, codes and procedures and the complex nature of the financial processes. CCAP is aimed at preparing world class Financial Analysts well equipped with Financial and Analytical tools and related processes of Financial Management.
The CCAP course design consists of a one month rigorous induction module wherein the participants undergo daily Classroom Training over a plethora of basic financial topics. Later on at the end of one month they are allocated to several business units of CRISIL where they work “as Interns” from Monday to Thursday and the following Friday and Saturday they are further trained by industry stalwarts and regular faculty from NITIE (National Institute of Industrial Engineering), Mumbai. The duration of the course is 2 years. At the end of two years the successful candidates will be recruited as Analysts/Management Trainees in CRISIL and its business units based on the conditions of clearing the minimum selection score set by the CRISIL management.

Kiran,
On successfull completion of the program, interns are offered a job within Crisil. There are no external placements and no company visits to hire the interns. However interns are free to accept the offer or look for another job in the market but no assistance is provided for the latter.

Thanks Abhishek ,
I am more interested to know the areas or companies that have attracted placements till now.. no salary expectations as yet from my side..
Thanks again for your response.

@Gaurav
I guess around 50% or a little more, of the waitlist candidates get a call. You can call the program cordinator to know ur rank in the waitlist.
@Kiran
Placements are over and all that was promised has been fulfilled. About salaries, come with an expectation of only what is minimum promised and you would not regret joining CCAP.

Hi Vivek,
U will be having ur GDand PI on the same date.
GD is an elimination round. Only candidates who clear GD will have a second round i.e PI.
GD topics are most likely to be general, they are not at all core finance related; but u can expect a lot from the current financial turmoil. So be prepared with the current affairs.
The interview panel expects u to be analytical in nature and have a liking towards finance. Interview questions can be related to ur acads, ur work experience(if any) and whatever u have written in the form …those essay type questions..
Be confident !!!! ALL the BEST

Also, do I have to come to Mumbai or I can appear for them from Delhi ?
Thanks,

Hi Vishal,
Have patience and keep checking your inbox.
GD is normally on topics everyone is aware about. The need is to brush up your awareness about what is happening around you. This also holds true for PIs. The panelists wont ask you anything you are not supposed to know. But if you are aspiring to be in the finance field you must keep yourself abreast of whats happening in the financial world. The last year, for example, aspirants were asked a lot of questions on the subprime crisis, the bubble, the outlooks etc. You must keep yourself updated for these type of questions and for that no reference is required but its the story of every newspaper & magazine.
If you want to practice you can certainly refer to websites for topics (I just saw a big list on http://www.chetanasinterview.com/articles/1139/1/SOME-GD-TOPICS/Page1.html) on GD and read articles on online resources like the financial times and business standard.
Feel free to ask. Thnx.

Hi,
I have a few humble questions for the present studying batch. 1. How would u rate or can you compare the CCAP against an MBA in Finance? I have got 98.66%ile in CAT. So, I don’t have to sit for the exam. But I want to write it. I received a mail saying that I will be informed of the GD/PI schedule in mid of March. 2. How much weightage is given to the score and GD, PI ? 3. What are the chances of getting into the CCAP with my score ? 4. What is the cut off in CAT score for getting a call?
5. When does CCAP begin ?
I am asking so many questions because I feel of gaining immense knowledge through this course. I really see this course making it big in India as well as around the world. The course structure, the simulatenous industry- classroom learning framework attracts me to the course.
Thanks,
Manish Singhal

Hi Manish,
1. CCAP and MBA must be treated in isolation since there are huge differences in the Concept and the pedagogy as well.
2 & 3. There is no point in sitting for the exam since it is used only for the shortlist. The score is not cummulative of the written score, GD and PI. Every stage is a elimination stage. There is nothing like a consolidated (weightage) score for selection. So writing the test wont improve your score. Chill, you have already cleared the first step. Now, concentrate on the next steps which are also elim. rounds.
4. It was around 90 prcntl last year for CAT. There might be an increase this year.
5. CCAP begins in the month of June with a month long introductory (finance) classes. And then it goes full fledged.
Feel free to write. Can also write to rsiddiqui@crisil.com. Thanks.

Hi Dharmesh,
The pattern for the CCAP test is same like that of CAT. So, you can go through any of the past CAT papers or the sample paper available on the Crisil website (http://www.crisil.com/ccap/crisil-sample-questions.pdf)
Well, there is no specific pattern for group discussion and personal interview. But, according to me,
for group discussion, its important to be well aware of the current happenings around the globe. Obviously, the best source for this are newspapers and magazines.
and for personal interview, knowing about yourself is most important.
Best of luck.

Payal
