What kind of shirt do peoplw wear in the company????
Half sleeves or full-sleeves????
By: ANIRUDH SINGH on May 30, 2009
at 8:05 pm
Hi Anirudh,
There are no terms for what kind of shirt you can wear. Both are allowed. In GAC, some days (typically fridays) are ‘casual days’ when you can wear even a jeans and t-shirt.
(This was what happened with the first batch and this was what I could remember).
First day is ususally interaction day. The batch starts and people from CRISIL come and talk about CRISIL and the programme. Then might be the HR formalities, talks on the programme, gyan from HR. They also give books to the needy.
Thnx.

Hi Prateek,
Thanks for the wishes.
On the packages front, I would suggest just wait for some more time. We are thinking of having a talk with the programme leader for releasing an average figure for the batch. If she gives the go ahead and the figure, you will surely know it. By the way, I can give you a hint on how it all went – “We are a happy bunch now. We are partying today.”
Thnx.
By: Rizwan Siddiqui on April 23, 2009

Will you people make public, the packages alloted to you???????
If yes, then that will be great….and will also give boost to the no. of applications for the program……….thereby increasing the surplus left after paying for the cost incurred on admission process…….
hence reducing the cost incured to CRISIL for the program……..
Will this also give confidence and reduce the anxiety of the future applicants…..

Well Ankur, good to see your interest in finance, Why changing the field demands an honest reply in my opinion, plus you can very well relate your current experience’s usefulness in any company, in finance too you work on the client side, you face them everyday on phone, in meetings. So your marketing experience is an added value to your communication skills, plus just talk about your interest in finance, your ease with numbers if it exists.
But before that just an alarm bell for you, dnt know how much you’re earning and how good a job you’re into, please revisit and reconsider your decision, CCAP after two years will place you at the level you get placed after any standard PG program, might seem an entry elevl to you, plus letting go off a salary for a stipend seems easy before you really face it, just keep it clear in ur mind that you’re ready to be here without getting a degree, or diploma and a best in industry package.

Hi,
I have a query. Though I always been inclined toward Finance, due to certain circumstances I took a PGD in Marketing, and currently working in Marketing domain where I am fighting hard to survive. Now, I wish to go for what I Finance as it fits better with my personality type and skill set.
I have cleared the written for CCAP. And gearing up myself for the GD/PI. I wish to know how should I tackle the PI with the question regarding change in field.
Kindly Suggest

Hello seniors,
Just got an email from CRISIL saying I’ve been shortlisted for GD/PI. Hope to get some guidance from you guys for the same. Following are some questions hovering in my mind now:-
1) What kind of topics do they ask for GD?
2) What sort of questions are expected for PI?
3) IS GD an elimination round?
More question will come across with time. Till then, Hope to get answers to these questions.

What packages have the first batch received??????
By: PRATEEK KOTHA on February 28, 2009
at 7:22 pm
Hi Prateek,
When you come in the professional circle the first thing you will note will be “never ask anyone his salary this direct”. Whatever, that is strictly confidential and a blog is not the ideal place to talk about that. Join CCAP, live it and you will come to know. One thing I can assure you, CRISIL will stick to its committment…. what may the conditions be.
Thnx.

Have to appear for Crisil Online Aptitude Test on 5th March……..
What is the cut-off for calls through CAT??????????????????????????????
By: ANIRUDH SINGH on February 28, 2009

Hi Anirudh,
Please note that sectional cutoffs are also on the ’selection checklist’. Verbal might be the reason in that case. Dont overheat your brain. Have confidence in yourself. Be a sport, give your best shot.
Thnx.

Hi Umesh,
It is like any other B-school entrance test. Do not worry too much that you are weak in English or Maths. Being in the Times of India group, you have a very good asset to yourself. Jus get ready n leave behind all inhibitions and start with a clean slate. Think that u can do it. CCAP course is all abt hope my dear friend and those who have HOPE are always welcomed here. Jus spend this one month on CCAP entrance test. The model questions are available in our website. Well, this might be gyan, but this is the truth
All the best

Hi Mahesh,
Ambuj has not yet come to office. Lets have a talk. This is my seventh job and I have a good experience of working with the corporates. It is a code of conduct to not reveal your salary to peers and others because it could be a root to many conflicts. You are supposed to follow the COC, but if you dont then it is a question of integrity. You are lucky enough to havnt yet encountered such a situation. That doesn’t mean things don’t happen. You can just contact your HR and ask what could be the consequences for revealing your salary to others. Better ask in your appraisals.
Ambuj has already told you that salary is directly linked to the performance in these two years. And commitment is for the minimum salary; the higher the performance, higher the salary: logic, ain’t it. (… you must have heard terms like… recession, slow down, lay-offs… etc.)
Thanks for talking.
